Spirit Day
Spirit Day is the world’s most visible anti-bullying campaign supporting LGBTQ+ youth. Each year, millions of people, schools, organizations, businesses, and community leaders wear purple to show their commitment to creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ young people.
Founded by GLAAD, Spirit Day raises awareness about the bullying and discrimination many LGBTQ+ youth continue to face while celebrating the power of acceptance, authenticity, and belonging. The day serves as a reminder that every student deserves to feel respected, supported, and valued for who they are.
Safe Schools Desert Cities encourages students, educators, families, and allies to participate by wearing purple, sharing messages of support, and taking action to foster inclusive school communities where all young people can thrive.
