Transgender Day of Remembrance
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance honoring the lives of transgender people who have been lost to anti-transgender violence. Held each year on November 20, TDOR provides an opportunity to remember those whose lives were taken, uplift transgender voices, and raise awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by transgender and nonbinary communities.
Communities around the world mark the day through vigils, educational programs, and acts of reflection that recognize the importance of dignity, safety, and belonging for all people. TDOR also serves as a call to action to create more inclusive schools, workplaces, and communities where transgender people can live openly, safely, and authentically.
Safe Schools Desert Cities stands in solidarity with transgender and nonbinary youth, families, educators, and allies as we honor lives lost and recommit to fostering respect, understanding, and equity for all.
