Each year, Safe Schools Desert Cities leads hundreds of middle and high school LGBTQ+ youth in The Palm Springs Pride Parade, a colorful and festive event celebrating diversity and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies in the Coachella Valley. The parade is part of the Palm Springs Pride Festival, featuring live entertainment, vendors, food, and fun activities. The parade starts at 10 a.m. on the first Sunday of November and goes along Palm Canyon Drive from Tachevah to Amado. Thousands of spectators line up along the street to cheer for the participants, who include local organizations, activists, celebrities, politicians, and themed floats. The parade also has several reviewing stands where emcees provide commentary and sign language interpretation. The parade is free and open to everyone.
