DESCRIPTION:Transgender Awareness Week is an annual observance dedicated to increasing understanding\, visibility\, and support for transgender and nonbinary people. Throughout the week\, communities\, schools\, and organizations share stories\, educational resources\, and opportunities for learning that highlight transgender experiences\, history\, achievements\, and advocacy. \n\nThe week encourages meaningful conversations about inclusion\, respect\, and equity while celebrating the contributions of transgender people in our communities. Transgender Awareness Week culminates on November 20 with Transgender Day of Remembrance\, a day to honor the lives of transgender people lost to anti-transgender violence and to recommit to creating safer\, more affirming communities for all.

DESCRIPTION:Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance honoring the lives of transgender people who have been lost to anti-transgender violence. Held each year on November 20\, TDOR provides an opportunity to remember those whose lives were taken\, uplift transgender voices\, and raise awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by transgender and nonbinary communities. \n\nCommunities around the world mark the day through vigils\, educational programs\, and acts of reflection that recognize the importance of dignity\, safety\, and belonging for all people.
